Planned to do the hills in 4:30 up and 4:10-15 down due to calf worries (sensitive to that since I tore a calf muscle last oct.). Also it was a muggy day. But run last 5k strong. The calf was fine and I surprised myself by coming back at 4:16/k pace. A good week!
Weather: 25C/77F, 60% but felt higher, cloudy

  1. Good week and news about the calf.

    With the 20k hill session (10k up/down) 1k hills... I don't quite understand that - you say 4 hard up, 2 hard down - that's 6 hard ones. What's the actual sequence of hard/easy?

  2. Thanks, Ewen. The sequence is (up/down):
    hard/easy/hard/easy/hard/easy/hard/hard/easy/hard.
So the 4th one is tough.

  3. Thanks Bob. I might try that with an 800m hill. There's one on the trail near here that's not too steep.
